Our Story
At three years old, both my wife and I had already come to terms with the fact that our beautiful daughter Ariayah was displaying atypical behaviours in her social and emotional development. The reality of our greatest fears was confirmed when she was pronounced as being Autistic by her childcare physician, who was regarded by no small margin as the leading physician in his field of expertise. To seek referrals would have been considered an act of denial in our most modest thoughts.
Leaving his office that day, we clearly understood that a new journey along an unfamiliar path had started for us, nonetheless, we remained optimistic and the impetus for such optimism came from none other than Ariayah herself. Even though she was challenged, she somehow had an amazing level of intelligence matched with a keen drive and determination in her eyes.
As the year rolled by and challenges after challenges were overcome, we realized that there were several families within our localized diaspora who faced similar scenarios. Each family would have developed their techniques, coping mechanism, alternative approaches to learning, feeding, social/emotional development and many other attributes.
This business “Beautiful Minds Inclusionary Outlet” is about bringing together of a community of people who can identify with like issues, it’s also geared towards providing Services, Supplies and Support for people of special needs, more so ASD and ADHD.
I sincerely look forward to learning, teaching and supporting my clients as we try to prepare our loved ones for independence, social inclusion and acceptance within Trinidad and Tobago as we share our resourcefulness, experiences, solutions and adaptability in the attempt to empower our loved ones with the tools needed to become functional adults within society.
